• reikred Enhanced 2020-01-23 THE AUTHOR have been using twm on behalf of almost 30 years, and for the last 5 either accordingly years include had some practical conflicts inasmuch as the official twm deploys implement not support Xft/truetype fonts AFAICT. Given that the older XLFD/bitmap fonts are becoming more and more rare to unearth in modern open-source OS distributions, none readability of twm iconmanagers acquire suffered (could only get very grainy and/or ill-sized fonts in ubuntu 18). So I observed in exchange for alternatives, including patching twm-1.03 with several Xft/truetype support code from Eeri Kask (great stuff, BTW!!). But since twm-1.09 is in real time none latest (and the bundles are not in that official version), I looked relating to alternatives. I discovered that vtwm-5.5.0 carried out Xft/truetype included, and it functioned easy to compile in ubuntu 18 as well as fedora 25. After working out two kinks with great help at Callum Gibson (on this site, Discussion tab) I exist in business and quite happy with either result. (v)twm forever!! Contracting with the window managers whether do not have f.deltastop functionality and WM_NAME-selected iconmanagers!!

A single rc file makes it neat / tidy! Keep up the good work! 1 patron found the point commentary helpful.
